NovaCast Technologies
The NovaCast Technologies group started as a company that was founded in 1981 by a visionary with unique core expertise and the will to resolve complicated metallurgical issues in the foundry process. Much has changed since then. NovaCast Technologies is now a group with two business areas, several subsidiaries, patent-protected technologies and a mutual vision of shortening lead times and creating other added values mainly within the global automotive industry and its subcontractors. The expertise represented by our employees is a very important component in the value chain that results in products, solutions and software developed within the group and marketed on the global market.
NovaCast Technologies, listed on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm Small Caps (NCAS B), develops and markets refined tool and die products for car body parts, as well as software for machining, simulation and process control for better and faster production processes to the global automotive industry and its subcontractors. The Camito technology enables manufacturing of castings in one solid piece for forming and stamping automotive body parts. The Graphyte technology offers advanced process control for serial production of castings in compacted graphite iron related to the automotive industry.
Value chain gives flexible complete offer
Both the Camito technology and CGI/Graphyte are new technology and system areas, that are in a market phase preceding commercialization and a broader market breakthrough. The acquisition of SwePart Verktyg in the fall of 2008, as well as the opening of Camito Technology Center during the spring of 2008, has enabled a broadening of the group’s total offer to the market. The varied business areas and expertise in our subsidiaries join to give a comprehensive value chain, that is very important for the Camito technology, and also to open new possibilities for added sales independently of the Camito technology. Other, partly new market segments will become available in a way that was not possible before. One example is marketing traditional castings in grey and ductile iron to the wind power industry. The expertise at SwePart Verktyg within design, as well as machining and die production, can also be marketed separately to customers and business areas beyond those intended for Camito technology. The group’s customer base currently consists of approximately 500 customers in 42 countries.
